Development of Self-report Scale for the Personal Traits of Gifted Students in Algerian Secondary School

Abstract
This study shed light on the development of self-report scale for the personal traits of gifted students in Algerian secondary school. It used the style of self-report which is based on the phenomenological trend. The dimensions of this scale were determined in the following traits: motivation, emotional stability, positive self-esteem, internal control, and deep learning style. In order to extract the psychometric properties of the scale, a scale of (62) items was applied on (54) distinguished students of the secondary level. After the statistical analysis of these items, (45) distinct items were selected to create the tool, which was also checked for its validity using the split half method where the correlation coefficient of the scale validity was (0.881). As for the reliability of the tool, the alpha coefficient rate of the internal consistency was (0.873). In conclusion, these results are satisfactory for considering this scale as a valid tool to explore gifted students.
