Abstract
The main aim of current study was to propose a strategy in the light of Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS), and to investigate its effectiveness in developing the mathematics sense of middle school Talented Students. The study used the semi-experimental (pre-post) test. The sample consisted of (70) students selected from the middle school that include talented classes in Tabuk. The sample was divided into two groups: experimental and control groups. The strategy's guide in the light of TIMSS was prepared including teaching plan. Also, the mathematical sense test was prepared which included (50) multiple choice items related to number sense, spatial sense, measurement sense, and statistical sense. The major findings of the study indicated statistically significant differences at the level of (0.01) between the mean scores of the experimental and control group in post mathematical sense test in favor of the experimental group students. The study recommended applying teaching strategies and assessment tools related to TIMSS for developing the mathematics sense skills of talented students.
