Abstract
This study aims to shed light on one of the significant aspects that the general public may not fully grasp regarding the challenges faced by university teachers in Algeria and the hidden costs they bear in pursuit of their dedicated roles. This is achieved through an analytical study of the opinions of a sample of Algerian university teachers, totaling 209 individuals, conducted from August 29, 2023, to January 5, 2024.
The study indicates that Algerian university teachers experience significant pressures, both professionally and personally. These pressures range from financial challenges such as housing expenses and commuting to non-financial issues like health, social problems, work-related stress, and time constraints. The findings emphasize the need for creating a supportive environment for Algerian university teachers to address these challenges and reduce the associated costs, which may not be widely recognized by the public.
