الملخص
The basic educational policy of any country is to cultivate the loyalty of the learners for their nation as one of the most vital pillar of the country. Language is considered to be the most important pillar. Consequently, countries make it compulsory for foreign students to learn the language of the country even if that language is not widely used in some educational specializations.
However, the striking issue in many Arab countries is pursuing a policy totally different from that of other countries around the world. This is clearly noticed as most of the Arab countries impose English language or French as a study requirement in many undergraduate majors particularly applied disciplines. This has created a stereotype among the Arabs that Arabic language had failed to arabize the terminologies in such disciplines.
Arabic language is a tool that has transmitted the Arab culture and Islamic civilization to the world. Additionally, it is characterized by its ability to deal with cultures and sciences of other nations maintaining the stability of its strength and roots. Moreover, Arabic language is able to accommodate all the emerging issues. In this, the successful experiences of the arabization of university education in the modern age have been the best evidence.
This research seeks to gain knowledge about the following:
- Obstacles that prevent the arabization of language in university education in the Arab world.
- Urgent need for arabization of the language of education in Arab universities.
