Abstract
The aim of the study was to identify IQ Tests Performance rates among the students of El-Imam El-Mahdi University. To achieve the objective of the study, Raven's Standard Progressive Matrices Test was used. The sample was stratified and randomly selected. The sample reached 485 students from the faculties of Medicine, Arts, and Engineering, 288 of which were freshmen. The results reveal that students of Medicine outperformed in the test compared to the students of Arts and Engineering, nonetheless, the results show a low performance rate in the IQ test among the students of El-Imam El-Mahdi University when compared to regional, African and international rates. It is worth mentioning that the present study assured the importance of discriminating between low IQ rate and low IQ test performance rate. It was also found that the performance rate in the state of White Nile was 91.8 while it was 78.4 in El-Imam El-Mahdi University. The study also revealed the performance rate of Khartoum University according to Grinch norms was 91.8 while it was 95.8 among El-Imam El-Mahdi University. The study concluded with some strategies to increase the performance rate on IQ tests and the national IQ rate for the new Sudanese generations.
