Abstract

This paper presents a comprehensive vision of the characteristics of gifted and talented students and their relation to the definition of talent. These characteristics have attracted the attention of researchers, scholars and scientists of education, past and present, Where The importance of identify the behavioral characteristics of gifted and talented students that researchers and educators in the education of gifted and talented students agree that they must be used lists of behavioral characteristics as one of the stations in the process of identification or detection of these students and their choice of special educational programs, and strong connections between behavioral characteristics and needs consequences also a kind of educational programs and appropriate guidance to them. On other hand, this paper presents an analysis and general perception of talent and gifted, and touch on emergence of their characteristics also the importance and impact of these characteristics on their programs, then we present a wide variety of  research and documentation, which took in detail about the characteristics of the gifted and talented, as well as determine the relationship between the characteristics of talent and gifted and the definition of talent and gifted. This paper also showed the impact of the characteristics from the rating scales in the detection process for gifted and talented, and the paper presents an applied tightly model edited by the researchers entitled: "The scale of estimating behavioral characteristics of students". It also offered an arbitrator applied model, written by the authors entitled: a measure of "Samer Ayasrah and Noor Azizi" to estimate the attributes and behavioral characteristics of the gifted and talented students. This study is theoretical and the researchers tried to identify the characteristics of gifted and talented and indicate the importance and direct impact on the composition, design and implementation of talent and gifted, we hope that this paper within its decree in supplying the Arab library with this toll diverse scientific knowledge, and applied models, so that the specialists and researchers refer to it and uses it in the programs of talent and excellence, and care centers for gifted and talented in the Arab world.
