الملخص

This study aimed at identifying the status of developing creativity of basic stage’s students in As-Salt Directorate  from perspective of principals and teachers. It aimed, also, at identifying the obstacles facing  developing creativity . The sample of the study consisted of 140 teachers and principals . To achieve the study’s objectives , the descriptive analytical approach was adopted, using a questionnaire which its data was analyzed according to Statistical package for social sciences  (SPSS). Additionally, SWOT Analysis was used. The research showed the points of weakness and strength in developing creativity and its obstacles.

The most significant results were as follows :

1-    The level of the status of developing the creativity and its obstacles of the basic stage’s students in Jordan, from the perspective of the teachers and the principals, was moderate with ( 62.67%) and (68%) respectively.

2-    There was a significant inverse relationship between status of developing creativity and its obstacles ; whenever obstacles increased , students’ creativity development decreased.

3-    The research came up with some strong and weak points according to the first side of SWOT analysis in the current status of developing creativity and its obstacles .

In light of these results, the researcher recommended the following :

1-    The necessity of providing an interesting educational environment which is  full of stability and security, that enhance the basic stage’s students’ creativity.

2-    Paying attention to the teachers’ preparation, rehabilitation and providing them with strategies of developing the basic stage’s students’ creativity, plus identifying  obstacles facing them in order to develop their abilities to reduce these obstacles.
