Abstract

The study aimed at identifying the differences between the gifted and the normal pupils of the fourth class at the basic schools, Gezira State, with reference to locus of control and self-concept. The study also aimed at identifying the nature of the correlation between the locus of control and self-concept as far as the gifted and the normal pupils are concerned. The study adopted two parts of the descriptive method: the correlational and the causal comparative. The tools of the study included locus of control scale selfconcept scale, and Stanford Binet scale which were applied to (200) male and female pupils; (100) of them were gifted and (100) were normal pupils. The most important results of the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences between the gifted and the normal pupils with reference to the locus of control and self- concept in favour of the gifted, while there was negative correlation between the locus of control and the self-concept as far as the gifted and the normal pupils are concerned.
