The Teachers of Gifted and Talented Students in Gifted and Talented Schools in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

Abstract
The main aims of the current study are to identify the main characteristics of teachers of gifted and talented students from the perspective of gifted and talented students in the gifted and talented schools in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The participants of this study contains (691) male and female students from King Abdullah II School for excellence and the Jubilee School in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The current study has identified the main characteristics of teachers of gifted and talented students, the factor analysis for the first question classified the variables into seven factors, the accumulation value of the factors have estimated (53,107%), in order to answer the second question the researcher has calculated the means and arranged the characteristics discerningly in each in each dimension, and the result of this study has shown that the mean of all the characteristics are above (3), the mean for “the professional and expert in his specialization“ reached the highest point(4.39) in the Cognitive dimension. On the other hand “the teacher who spends plenty time with his students outside the classroom” has got the lowest mean (3.48) within the educational dimension. This study recommends several characteristics for the further studies to look deeply to reassess the programs of rehabilitation, preparation and training for the teachers of gifted and talented students which offered to them during and before the employment duration. Those characteristics will contribute to fulfill the needs of the gifted and talented students, and employ the main characteristics as additional a criteria for employing new teachers in gifted and talented programs in the future.
