Abstract:

      The Study aimed to identify the causes of the phenomenon of violence in Jordanian universities, and university administrations role in the reduction of this phenomenon, to contribute to propose some solutions that may be useful in reducing the phenomenon. The study sample consisted of (333) of academic administrators in Jordanian universities for the academic year (2014/2015). For data analysis, arithmetic averages, standard deviations, multi-ANOVA, Scheffe test. The findings of the study showed that the estimate of the sample of the study of the causes of violence in Jordanian universities, was average, as shown by the results presence statistically significant differences in the causes of the phenomenon of violence in Jordanian universities, functional level and in favor of Vice President of the University and Dean of the College and Vice Dean of the Faculty. The study defines the role of the university departments in the reduction of the phenomenon of violence in Jordanian universities, and propose solutions.
