Abstract

Abstract

The study aims to examine the status of the relationship between the Algerian University and the socio-economic environment and the ways to activate it. The study also focuses on estimating the impact of open innovation as a mechanism of activation of the partnership between the university and the socio-economic environment, and on assessing the contribution of the national research projects at Banta University in the stimulation of  this partnership. Open Innovation is described in terms of three axes : (1) Availability of open innovation principles in companies, (2) open innovation practices (inbound  and outbound), (3) the actors or partners who are dealing with companies through open innovation (degree of openness on market, information and research sources). The activation of the partnership is studied through two variables : the strategic objectives of open innovation’s application, for both, the organization and the university.

The population of the study included the total researchers at the University of Batna. Then holders of PNR were selected as a sample to collect preliminary data to test the hypothesis of  impact of open innovation on the activation (stimulation) of the partnership between the university and the socio - economic environment, A questionnaire was distributed to the targeted holders of projects. The results show that study’s hypotheses are correct, This allows us to give some recommendations
