Abstract

This study investigated the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) technology on the performance of cultural centers and community libraries in Oman. The Nizwa Cultural Innovation Center was used as a case study. The study analyzed the application of the intelligent platform IPCON in improving cataloging, information retrieval, and user access to knowledge resources. IPCON enables faster and more efficient access to library materials, reduces the time and effort required by users, and supports interactive use of books and services. This study aims to demonstrate the strategic value of AI in the organization of cultural resources, promote innovation through advanced technologies in line with Oman Vision 2040, and advance the integration of traditional and digital library systems. This study systematically reviewed relevant literature on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in libraries and analyzed similar experiences both domestically and internationally. A comparative approach was used to examine the differences between traditional systems and AI-supported systems in information retrieval. Results showed that respondents held a positive attitude towards AI; 53.4% emphasized its role in resource organization, 38% pointed out its improved operational efficiency, and 70% stressed the necessity of professional training. The study concludes that adopting AI and increasing investment in capacity building are crucial for constructing an efficient and integrated digital environment in Omani cultural institutions.
