Abstract

The fast pace at which cloud computing has been embraced has transformed data management in organizations coupled with serious challenges to do with security. In this paper, the essence of cloud security has been explored with special focus on such critical measures as Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) as key methods of ensuring protection of sensitive information. This study examines effective mitigation measures and the dynamism of cloud security, as illustrated by a systematic qualitative literature review that demonstrates that extensive security systems are required to ensure the security of data in the world that is becoming more cloud-computing-centered. The question that guides the research is as follows: How can integration of the DLP and IDS techniques in a framework lead to improved data privacy and protection in cloud computing? The main purpose is to present a unified model that will easily integrate DLP and IDS to enhance data privacy and security on cloud systems with the vision of creating a preventive countermeasure against data intrusion and safeguarding of any sensitive data in the dynamic cloud computing environment.
