Social Innovation in Yemen: Opportunities and Challenges

Abstract
This research paper aims to study social innovation in Yemen, and to analyze the available opportunities and future challenges. The research adopted the qualitative analytical approach to exploring the reality of social innovation, and to foresee the future of this sector. Through the experience of social innovation in Yemen, represented by the Social Innovation Laboratory, in addition to reviewing the literature and previous experiences. This is to analyze the opportunities for applying social innovation and explore the challenges facing it. The results showed that there are promising opportunities to apply social innovation in Yemen, especially in the fields of education, health, and the environment, using technology as an aid. However, social innovation faces significant challenges including lack of funding, limited societal awareness, and political instability. The study recommends strengthening cooperation between government, civil society and the private sector, adopting policies supportive of social innovation, and improving the working environment for social innovators.
