Abstract
The study aimed to identify the impact of soft skills on sustainable development from the perspective of academic leaders at the University of Science and Technology, Aden. The researchers used the descriptive analytical approach, and the questionnaire was used as the main tool for collecting data. It was distributed electronically. The study community consisted of all academic leaders, numbering (60), who were selected using a comprehensive inventory method at a rate of (100%). The researchers used a set of statistical methods to analyze the data. The study showed that the level of application of soft skills was generally (very high), and that the level of sustainable development at the University of Science and Technology, Aden was generally (high), and there was a strong direct correlation between the independent variable (soft skills) and sustainable development. There was a statistically significant effect of soft skills in their dimensions represented by (leadership and teamwork, decision-making and problem solving, time management, creative thinking and crisis management, training and development) in sustainable development at the University of Science and Technology, Aden. There was no statistically significant effect of soft skills in their dimensions represented by (communication and communication, civilized and ethical behavior) in sustainable development at the University of Science and Technology, Aden. The study recommends the necessity of spreading the philosophy of soft skills, establishing and enhancing them at all levels, and the necessity of academic leaders at the university achieving sustainable development by establishing the concept of environmental, social and economic responsibility, the necessity of establishing the concept of sustainable development among all its employees; in order to achieve the desired goal, translating the goals of sustainable development into the mission of the university’s colleges in the form of clear and specific phrases and practices.
