Abstract
This study aims to investigate the way of learning art of poetry through a proposed conceptualization according to Ibn Tabateba's method of poetry versification. Educational foundations of learning poetry, by using this method, the creative way of writing a poem of Al-tawil meter, and the evaluation of that poem should be considered in achieving the objectives of this proposed conceptualization. To achieve this objective, Ibn Tabateba's "Eyar Al-sher" book was analyzed to identify his method of poetry versification. In light of this method, building the suggested conceptualization consists of four units. Reviewing the literature and previous studies helped in deriving the educational basics that should be considered while learning poetry according to Ibn Tabateba's method, as well as in identifying the required procedures for composing a poem of Al-tawil meter. In the light of these procedures, the study has come up with certain contributions and recommendations. It contributes to teaching and learning Arabic language arts and practicing them, in addition to its contribution to the literature that talented poets can make use of, especially in composing poetry to enhance their attitudes toward their writings. It also assists in designing educational programs for learning Arabic language arts, especially the different types of poetry in light of Ibn Tabataba's method of poetry versification. An experimental study to investigate the impact of Ibn Tabateba's method on teaching and developing poetry needs to be conducted.
