Abstract

 

The objective of this study is to investigate the differences between high academic achievement and of low academic achievement students in the variables of intelligence and exam anxiety. Also to investigate the effect of intelligence on the relationship between exam anxiety and academic achievement, through a comparison between high academic achievement students with high exam anxiety and high academic achievement students with low exam anxiety in intelligence, as well as for students of low academic achievement.

To achieve this goal the descriptive method was employed. The sample consisted of (302) students on whom the test sequence of Raven Matrices (SPM) and the measure of the trend towards the exam were applied. The results showed statistically significant differences in intelligence among high academic achievement students from the College of Science and low achievement for the sample of the College of Art . The results indicated that there were no significant differences between high achievement students and low achievement. Results also revealed that the differences in exam anxiety among high academic achievement and low achievement students did not reach the level of statistical significance in the sample of The college of Science. Concerning the College of Arts sample, the differences were statistically significant among high academic achievement and low students. The results also showed that the difference in intelligence among high academic achievement with exam anxiety and high achievement with low exam anxiety is not statistically

significant among the both students of the Colleges of Art and Science. Finally, the difference in IQ between low achievement with exam anxiety and high achievement with exam anxiety for the College of Science and the students of the College of Art.
