Abstract
The purpose of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of an Enrichment Program Based on Smart Games on Developing Problem Solving Skills and Achievement Motivation of Talented Students in Saudi Arabia.
The study sample consisted of (32) talented ninth graders based on their end-of-year results according to the list adopted by the Ministry of Education in Riyadh.
The sample was divided into an experimental group and a control group each of which consisted of (16) students.
Two instrument were used to gather the data : the first was the problem-solving skills scale and the second was the motivation for achievement instrument . To realize the purpose of the study , an enrichment program was devised according to the information processing-cognitive theory. It consisted of (20) training sessions that were applied on the experimental group during the second semester of the year (2008-2009) .
The ANCOVA and MANOVA Tests were used to measure the difference between the means of the two groups and their interaction . The result revealed a significant difference at level (α≤ 0.05) between the means of both the experimental and control groups in the problem-solving skills scale , and the other variables, such as gender and age in future studies.
Moreover, he recommends that this program be incorporated during the scholastic weekly schedule so that students get The benefit revealed in the present study.Downloads
