Abstract

Abstract:

The present study aimed to investigate the role of the episodic buffer in identifying  gifted pupils. The sample of the study consisted of (71) students from elementary school distributed into two groups: gifted pupils (N=30) and ordinary pupils (N=41). Using the (T.test), it showed a statistically significant difference in favor of gifted pupils in terms of performance on the test of episodic buffer, which indicates the ability of this component to distinguish between ordinary pupils and talented ones.  Therefore, the researchers recommend to adopt the episodic buffer as a tool to detect gifted pupils. However, the result did not show any significant gender differences based on the efficiency of the episodic buffer.
