The Status of University Evaluation and Self Evaluation Practicing at University of Sudan for Science and Technology

Abstract
This paper discusses the experience of self-evaluation and institutional calendar conducted by Sudan University of Science & technology (SUST) in particular. The draft stated by the Arabic Network of Arab Universities Union, the sample of self-evaluation sponsored by SUST, and the procedures followed by the self-management and quality assurance at the University of Sudan for Science and Technology in Calendar operations faculties of various university. In addition, the most important recommendations of developing the performance at the university.
The first section of this paper displays, a historical presentation of the university quality assurance since its foundation on the base of renewable academic services. The university depends on this matter on the British approach, such as; external examiner. Accordingly, in 2002, the Vice Chancellor issued a decision to configure a private committee for Calendar and Accreditation under the following terms by making: -
1. A list of principles and criteria of self-evaluation and quality assurance.
2. A mechanism for the implementing the regulations on the faculties and units of the university.
3. An internal regulations to ease for the committee work.
In 2009, for the guarantee of developing the performance and in accordance to the Arabic Network for Association of Arab Universities directions, the university has been self-assessment management and quality assurance, instead of the Commission Evaluation and Accreditation. Since its composition, it started reviewing the structure of self-evaluation units in the colleges, departments, field-work committees, and academic students councils in various colleges. In addition to that, it activated the qualitative indictors forms of self-evaluation in the university and also contributed to the first institutional calendar in reference to the Arabic Network for the Union of Arab Universities.
We also reviewed quality model adopted by the university, which includes the organization of inputs, processes, outputs and feedback and standards adopted by the Sudan University of Science and Technology and optimization procedures adopted by the university. Finally, the paper introduces a summary of what has been reviewed and a number of recommendations aimed at making some improvements and corrections to develop and improve output performance.
The paper reviewed the quality model adopted by the university, which includes; the organizating of inputs, processes, outcomes, feedback, standards adopted by the university and the procedures of improvement adopted by the university.
The paper concludes with introducing a summary of what has been reviewed and a number of recommendations which aimed at making some improvements and corrections to develop and improve the outcomes performance.
