Abstract

Application of Total Quality Management in the Yemeni Higher Education

     This study aimed to investigate the extent of total quality management application at either Sana’a University and University of Science and Technology from the point of view of the faculty members and their assistants. It also aimed to identify the relationship between the principles of TQM in the two universities.

The community of this study consisted of all faculty members and their assistants Sana’a University and University of Science and Technology in the following faculties: Faculty of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Commerce and Economy, and Faculty of Social Sciences at (1416). However, the study sample was selected by a random stratified method at (220) items. The study depended on the analytical descriptive method and method of comparative analysis. The data was collected through a questionnaire designed and developed to measure the objectives of the study and test of its hypotheses. The questionnaire was consisted of two parts: the first part included the personal and functional data; the second part included the total quality management principles. The data was analyzed by using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The researcher also used the statistical descriptive methods to describe the data of the study, as well as the statistically significant method to measure the objectives of the study and test its hypotheses. The study has concluded to a set of findings, most importantly, there is a poor application in the total quality management in Sana’a University, while TQM is highly applied in the University of Science And Technology. in addition, there a positive statistically significant correlation among all principles of total quality management in the two universities. The study also presented several recommendations within the findings of the study.
