The Role of the University in Achieving A Knowledge Society to Cope with Informational Development " "A Field Study at the University of Qassim

Abstract
Targeted research analysis of the status of the role played by the niversity of Qassim in achieving a knowledge society to keep pace of development of information , to reach concrete proposals contribute to building a knowledge society .It also tried to detect differences between faculty members about their assessment of the role of Qassim University in achieving a knowledge society , according to gender , nationality and type of college ,and academic rank . The study used of descriptive analytical method ,depending on social survey sample, and research descriptive documentary , has also been relying on the questionnaire as a tool to collect data , It was found that the results to be the role of Qassim University was strong in the center of the production of knowledge The axis of the dissemination of knowledge was strong while came axis application of knowledge degree check medium . The results also indicate a lack of statistically significant differences between the responses of the respondents about the role of the university in the production of knowledge , and the lack of differences about the ability of Qassim University to build a knowledge society due to the variable of nationality, and the lack of statistically significant differences due to the variable of academic rank. In general, results also indicated that the evaluation of faculty members to the university's role in the dissemination of knowledge increasingly higher academic rank them . And that there were no statistically significant differences between faculty members about their assessment of the role of the university in building a knowledge society due to the variable type college.
