A proposed vision for developing the Academic Leaders in the University of Jordan Based on Cambridge University Model for Sustainable Leadership

Abstract
This study aimed at to suggeste perception vision for developing the academic leader’s performance in the University of Jordan based on Cambridge University model for sustainable leadership. To achieve the aims of the study, the descriptive analytical method was used. The sample of the study consisted of (195) participants. They were chosen through simple random way, a questionnaire was developed based on Cambridge University model for sustainable leadership (Visser and Courtice 2011), this model consisted of three aspects: The leader’s features, leader’s behaviors and the way that the leader works. The results of the study showed that the degree of practicing the sustainable leadership in the University of Jordan was moderate, and there were no statistically significant differences according to practicing the sustainable leadership in the University of Jordan for the variables: experience, scientific qualification and the nature of the college. The results of the study also revealed that there were statistically significant differences due to the variables of gender for females, and the academic rank for lecturer. A suggested perception was put to develop the academic leadership’s performance in the University of Jordan based on the Cambridge University for sustainable leadership.
