The Role of Electronic Twinning in Professional Development from the Perspective of Teachers in Schools in Aqaba Governorate

Abstract
The current study aimed to identify the role of electronic twinning on the professional development of teachers in the schools of Aqaba Governorate, from the point of view of the teachers themselves. To achieve this goal, the study relied on the analytical descriptive approach and the questionnaire as a tool for collecting data from the study sample, which consisted of (480) teachers from the schools of Aqaba Governorate. The study concluded that there is a positive impact of electronic twinning on the professional development of teachers in the following areas: improving the quality of education, enhancing interaction and communication between teachers, expanding opportunities for sustainable education, and developing technical skills. Based on the results reached, the study recommended the need to enhance awareness of the importance of using electronic twinning and its benefits in improving the quality of education and enhancing teacher development.
