Abstract

The study aimed to determine the level of satisfaction of students enrolled in the basic education program at the Faculty of Education at Al-Quds Open University (Gaza Branch) with the course (human nutrition). It also aimed to identify any statistically significant differences between the degree of assessment due to these variables: (gender- level of study - secondary school type).  To achieve these objectives, the researcher followed the descriptive analytical method by administering a questionnaire consisting of (38) items distributed over (3) dimensions to a sample of (64) students. The results showed that the total degree of satisfaction with the Human Nutrition course was medium at a relative weight (53.44%). The dimension (Satisfaction with Teaching Method) came in the first rank, with a medium degree of satisfaction and a relative weight (66.97%). The second dimension (interest in the course) received a medium degree and a relative weight (51.53%). The third dimension (course content) came in the third rank with a low degree and a relative weight (44.71%).  There were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores due to the variable (gender, secondary school), while differences were found due to the study level in favor of the third level in course content and the total score of the tool. In light of research results, it was recommended reconsidering the size of the prescribed material, and relying on practice more than theory when offering programs of preparing science teachers.
