Abstract

The study aimed to identify the obstacles facing the Jordanian universities in promoting the concepts of political education from the standpoint of the faculty members, and the relationship of the variables (sex , university, and academic rank).      This study has adopted a descriptive analytical method, The study sample consisted of 350 members from universities, that are chosen for the study.   The tool was a questionnaire composed of the (37) statements, which are  distributed into  (5) areas.The results showed the presence of a medium degree of approval of the  obstacles facing the Jordanian universities to play their role in promoting the concepts of political education . There was lack of statistically significant differences at the level (0.05 ≥ α) about the obstacles facing the Jordanian universities in promoting the concepts of political education related to gender . There were and the presence of statistically significant differences at the level (0.05 ≥ α) about the obstacles facing the Jordanian universities in promoting the concepts of political education attributed to the university in favor of public universities, and un variable of academic rank in favor of the rank of assistant professor. The study recommends redesigning the ways to embody the university educational philosophy and its objectives in line with the political, economic and social development changes in the Kingdom in its present target circumstances. Therefore, this philosophy should focus on more university openness to the local community   to actively contribute in the comprehensive development, and also deepen the concepts of the social equality Our homeland and its resources belong to all of us, without exception . Consequently , no citizen has the right to have more privileges than others.
