Abstract

Evaluation and its Impact on the Improvement of University Academic Staff Performance 

Abstract:

 The research aims to study actual fact the process of evaluation of the university professor to sections accounting and information technology at the Institute of Administration / Rusafa and knowledge indicators measuring the quality of performance of faculty members of the Institute as a whole for the academic year 2010/2011, and evaluate the performance of faculty members (sample) for the academic year 2010 / 2012. The definition of the concept of the university calendar and its importance and interest and the quality and characteristics and functions. As well as knowledge of the role of educational institutions in higher education for the development of a university professor.                                                                                                                  The approach the case study and applied to sections of accounting and information technology and libraries in the Institute of Management / Rusafa for the academic year 2010/2011, and data collection procedures and sample

were distributed Alastpantin first heads of Departments, who are (7) and included (23) question shows scale Quality performance of faculty members of the Institute of Directors / Rusafa as a whole and by manual application of quality standards in the educational organization for a certificate of accreditation issued by the Technical Education. As second Alastelana was distributed to the heads of academic departments (accounting, information technology and libraries) and included (11) Question calendar shows the performance of faculty members (sample) for the academic year 2010/2011.

One of the most important results

  1. Hypotheses are confirmed, the five search.

2. The highest yes (65.3) to measure the quality of the performance given the faculty of the Institute as a whole for the academic year 2010/2011, and the lowest rate answer both (21.7%).     

3. Reached the highest upgrades for years to scientific research in 2010/2011, reaching (7) at a rate (87.5%).         

4. Reached the highest degree of excellence of the Department of Information Technologies and libraries (55.6%) for the year 2009/2010 and followed by the percentage (37.5%) for the year 2010/2011.                                     

5. Reached the highest proportion of published research (sample) (44.4%) for the year 2010/2011 and the lowest proportion of published research (18.4%) for the year 2008/2009.   

The most important recommendations:

1. Diversify the means and methods of evaluating faculty member.

2. Should be linked to the process of evaluation of faculty members with grants Academic Rank based on the duties of a faculty member of the (teaching, scientific research, community service).

3. Ensure Results Calendar interest to faculty members by the institution, the   educational development of future plans for the advancement of higher education.

4. Interest and commitment the national standard specifications as the basis for     achieving quality as a prelude to work on the application of total quality requirement.
