Abstract:
The role of companies in the private sector in ensuring the quality of higher education in Jordan
This study aimed to identify the role of companies in the private sector in ensuring the quality of higher education in Jordan through answering the following questions:
- Is companies in the private sector a clear vision to ensure the quality of higher education in Jordan?
- Do you contribute to companies in the private sector with a high degree of quality assurance in higher education in Jordan?
- Is there statistically significant differences in the responses of respondents study attributable to demographic variables and functional (sex, age, experience, education level, type of activity)?
In order to answer these questions has been developed following assumptions in order to achieve the goals of the study:
- the companies in the private sector do not have a clear vision to ensure the quality of higher education in Jordan.
- companies in the private sector do not contribute with a high degree of quality assurance in higher education in Jordan.
- There are strong significant differences when the confidence level (0.05 ≥ α) in the answers the sample clauses over the visibility of the private sector to ensure the quality of higher education is attributable to demographic variables (gender, age, experience, education level, type of activity)
Methodology: descriptive approach is followed to achieve the purposes of the study.
The study population: consists community study of joint stock companies registered in the financial market to January 2012 when there were (138) company and the number of members of the study population (250) people, has been selected (200) people from senior management (Director company) valuable companies contribution, where the questionnaires distributed study respondents, was restored (170) identifying suitable for analysis, where the percentage recovery of about 85%.
Based on the results study concluded the following recommendations:
- find a type of cooperation between the administrations top companies in the private sector and universities in the formulation of vision and mission accurately to include objectives and a clear role on contributing to ensure the quality of higher education in Jordan.
- legislation and cooperation with companies in the private sector to support quality education financially through grants to fund scientific research and loans for students creators of non-affluent, and logistically by providing facilities and access to databases, to be have an advantage in the selection and appointment of Uniqe Students, and in accordance with the standards established for the organization.
- Conduct further studies to identify the interest of other institutions in the private sector non-public shareholding companies - to ensure the quality of education in Jordan.
- redrafting the intellectual framework for action to make the educational institutions do not rely solely on the pumping process knowledge in the minds of students, but exceed the sharpening of intellectual and creative energies of the students, and put it in the framework of practical and interactive application
- the need to re-define the concepts and frameworks of higher education operating in the light various educational institutions before the introduction of the concepts and methods of quality management.
- the importance of increasing communication between higher education institutions and private sector companies to exchange views and opinions in order to improve the output of higher education that are in the conduct of work in various companies.
