Challenges Facing the Accreditation of Human Science College Programs at Shakra University in Saudi Arabia Faculty members Perspectives
Abstract:
This study has aimed to investigate the challenges confronting obtaining the academic accreditation and quality assurance for programs at College of Sciences and Humanities in Quwayiyah Governorate , Shaqra University from the viewpoints of the teaching staff there. To achieve the aim of the study, a scale (questionnaire) was applied after having checked its psychometric traits. This scale consists of (42) items. The sample of the study is composed of (40) staff members in total: (20) males, (20) females. Means and Standard deviations were calculated and a T-Test was used for two independent groups to compare the degrees of the samples of the study according to the variables of gender and specialization respectively. The results of the study have showed the existence of statistically significant differences in the participants' responses due to gender (sex) and these differences are in the favor of the males. The results of the study have also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the participants' responses due to specialization. The study put forward some recommendations, the most significant of which are increasing the support of the administration at Shaqra to achieve the accreditation and quality assurance at College of sciences and Humanities in Quwayiyah Governorate and conducting more studies abut accreditation and quality assurance in all fields and colleges at the university, as well as initiating new variables such as academic degree, and years of experience.
