Abstract
The study aimed to identify the impact of social media on the behaviour and values of university youth in the Sultanate of Oman with a field study on Al Sharqiya University. Third, the study reached the following results:
There is a wide impact of social media on the behaviours of students at A'Sharqiyah University, as these effects tended to the negative side more than the positive in general, and the effects were in the following aspects: increasing students’ isolation, and staying up all night due to integration with some programs, and the effect was also on emotion to a high degree, while the effects of social media on the values of university students tended to be positive, there are several values that interacted positively, including: expanding social relations, the recipe for cooperation and helping others, and empathy greatly with others. The study also confirmed the absence of significant differences. A statistic at the level of (0.05) in the impact of social media on the axes of values and behaviours attributed to the school year. The study recommends intensifying legal and self-censorship and spreading network culture, whether through various programs or lectures.
